I saw that you were doing a save the date extravaganza on the site, so I thought I’d send in ours. We’re an outdoorsy/adventuresome couple and wanted to have some fun with the save the dates. We’re both recent architecture graduates, so making the graphic in Photoshop was easy. Unfortunately, I don’t have the complete save the date to show you, because we aren’t done making them, but what’s attached is said graphic to go on the magnet.

How much fun are these? This couple definitely has a sense of humor and we had a blast working on the design. The best part is that most of their family and friends are avid tabloid readers (even the bride’s 92 year old grandma is a regular subscriber!) so these fit the bill perfectly. Yes, that is the bride and groom in costume.
My favorite detail is that when mailing, the bride and groom addressed most with the guests’ names and the “or current resident”. How awesome is that?

I’m a friend of Julie&Todd and I stumbled onto your blog… I know you are probably being swamped but I couldn’t resist sending you our save-the-dates given the timing of a particularly historic presidential election…

I just got married this past Friday at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios. I have been following your blog for months now as we were getting married at the same venue. I loved your wedding photos, it looked beautiful! Our wedding was a fall themed wedding and the weather cooperated with us quite well. I wanted to share with you my save the date. I wanted to do something fun that played off the movie studio setting and then have our invitations and wedding decor follow a separate theme more personal to us (Joy of ohjoystudio did some wonderful work for us there – she’s a good friend of mine).
Here is our movie studio themed save the date attached. Let me know if you are interested in our photos of the wedding and invitations, I hope to have those soon from Karen Wise, our wedding photographer!

This weekend I finished designing the save the dates for my June wedding. I wanted to share them with you, since I have you to thank in part for the inspiration. Your fantastic tutorial on digital silhouettes provided me with just what I needed to realize my vision. My fiancé and I share a passion for genealogy. So in addition to featuring our family trees as our reception theme, we’re sprinkling in a little old-fashioned charm with the silhouettes, crocheted doilies and vintage millinery flowers. I hope that our save the dates really set the tone for our special day.
