Real wedding at Loft Seven: Melissa + Bob
Loving this chic palette of greys, whites and greens with just a pop of the burgundy! More details from their wedding planner below.
From their wedding planner:
Melissa & Bob were one of my favorite couples last year. As soon as I met them, I knew they didn’t want the traditional wedding. Instead, they wanted a sophisticated dinner party reception with great food, great drinks, and lots of quirky fun. From the beginning, the bride had her eye on a fabulous loft in downtown LA (LoftSeven) which as you will see really captures the essence of city living in Los Angeles – the noise, the smells, the traffic, who knew! The couple fell in love with a neutral palate of soft, pale grey, white and green. We added deep burgundy calla lilies in the bouquet for that extra pop! Of course no dinner party catered by Heirloom LA can be complete without a full dessert bar with everything from carrot cakes to inside out s’mores courtesy of Cake Monkey.

As a young Korean American couple living on a budget, we wanted to have a wedding honoring our Korean parents without compromising our own style and fun. Traditionally, Korean weddings are celebrated honoring the bride and groom’s parents where the guest list can be anywhere from 250 to 500+ people of mostly friends of the parents– that meant having an open invite wedding. A wedding with a guest list of 300 people can be bad for the pocketbook of a budget minded couple in NYC. This meant bringing out the true Martha Stewart in me. From the programs to the flowers, cupcakes to the even the Emcee and DJ, our wedding was mostly handmade/DIY with the help of our dearest family and friends. Our parents had their fun during the ceremony and dinner reception which was held at our church. Afterwards, close friends and family headed over to Gary’s Loft for a post reception with a more personal touch of who we are as a couple. Thanks to Gary’s Loft, we had a country meets city theme in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. With heartfelt toasts, photobooth frenzies, and some good ‘ol booty shaking the work put out was well worth it.
