Engagement shoot: Irina + Robb
This engagement shoot was a really refreshing change from the one I usually see shot in Brooklyn…you can’t always get shots done at the Tobacco Warehouse so these were particularly nice to see!
I would frame this one in a second…an amazing shot featuring the lesser photographed Manhattan Bridge.
I love this one shot in the reflection…make a rainy day not so bad after all.
I’m a sucker for shoots including pets, ESPECIALLY Frenchies!

And don’t forget, for those of you doing the card swap, cards need to be mailed by Tuesday, Dec. 15. If you haven’t included a recipe with your card, you can email me with it and I’ll be putting together a pdf to send to all participants with the recipes!

Studio tour: Moontree Letterpress

Name: Rebecca Kutys
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Company: Moontree Letterpress
What is your aesthetic? Simple graphics, muted colors, lots of white space.
How does your studio style convey your professional aesthetic? I believe that keeping the studio clean and organized makes me much more productive. As soon as I get messy or cluttered I slow down. I think my design reflects this too, less is more.
Favorite part of your studio? My favorite thing about the studio are my studiomates: Breck (of Sesame Letterpress) and her full-time employee Amanda. We get along so well, with the perfect mix of hard work, NPR and laughter. I’d go crazy if I had to work alone…
Where do you go for inspiration? I go outside.
What tool do you use in your business that you can’t live without? My ruler, guillotine cutter, my press (of course), Quickbooks, iphone, Pandora, Adobe Illustrator, UPS, Pantone Book of Colors
Is there anything you’d upgrade to? Anything computer-related, probably nothing press-related.
Anything else we should know? I can’t believe how lucky I am to be doing what I’m doing. Owning a business is so challenging, but it’s also the adventure of a lifetime. Thanks for checking out my studio!

Real wedding: Alex + Alexis

So you guys remember Alex and Alexis’s engagement shoot? Well here they are all grownup and married, and I’m loving it! They’re on their honeymoon as we speak so, we’re going to have to go on without them, but I think the pics speak volumes as to how cool this event was. Congrats you two!

Alexis’s sister Megan of Brown Parcel Press did these awesome 3D save the dates and also designed the invites, which I’ll post at 1pm.
