Headpiece inspirations for your modern wedding

I’ve had headpieces on my mind lately (see why) and I can’t help but think that a wedding is the perfect excuse to glam up your head. If I were to get married over again, I’d definitely go wild and crazy with the head gear. These are some of my favorite inspiration looks for creating a wedding headpiece. They’re not necessarily bridal, but could definitely be used as such.

Engagement shoot: Anja + Ben

My fabulous friend Anja (site director of TheKnot.com) is getting married soon, and her engagement pics tell a great story of her and her fiance’s personalities.  They shot all over Brooklyn at thrift stores and on the streets, but my favorites are definitely from the Airstream trailer they shot in…I gotta get me one of those someday!  You can check out more pics from their shoot over at The Knot here and here.

Bridal market: Sarah Loertscher for Angel Sanchez

So while watching the Angel Sanchez show in complete awe, I was equally obsessed with the geometric hairpieces inspired by his collection by Sarah Loertscher.  They’re powdercoated brass, and to put it mildly, I want to wear all of them all the time!  They really are a perfectly architectural way to accessorize a wedding dress.

Bridal market: Angel Sanchez

OK, get ready for a gush-fest…my award for best show this bridal market HAS to go to Angel Sanchez.  I’m not kidding when I say that I almost cried at how beautiful every dress was….each one better than the next.  Pictures cannot even do them any justice, so just trust me when I say that this collection was pure perfection, and any bride wanting to take a more fashion forward direction with their dress should definitely look to him.  Congrats Angel!!
