Saw these headpieces in the latest issue of Elegant Bride and just fell in love…very romantic but modern at the same time…

And SPEAKING of David Stark, I happen to have an extra copy of his book To Have & To Hold, that features a great collection of wedding bouquets. Lets make this interesting and have a little contest, shall we? I’m always searching for new, creative, and modern ideas for weddings…send me pictures of the hippest bouquets you’ve seen or done with a little description and you win the book! Either post your ideas in the comments section or email me at brooklynbride [at] gmail [dot] com. Entries must be submitted by Friday, July 27th, 11:59pm. I’ll post the winning photo on Monday.
Why not take some cues for your wedding from event designer, David Stark. If your venue allows, maybe a wall of lemons and limes? Or how about centerpieces made of flower covered styrofoam balls? The taller the better! Repetition with ordinary objects is a great strategy for making that seemingly “ordinary” object into a graphic pattern. I could see those lemons and limes as the backdrop for a great photobooth style area……

Ceramicist Alyssa Ettinger makes supercool bowls, necklaces, and other pottery using knitware patterns….very differnt and very Brooklyn. A set of her teacups or one of her pendants would make a great addition to a giftbag.
