Denise of Studio d.Sharp [check out her new blog as well]:

My husband and I were wed at the Maryhill Museum in the Columbia Gorge in 1996. We had the ceremony on the grounds, followed by cocktails and an appetizer bar. We had vintage quilts on the lawn for guests to relax and talk {amid the resident peacocks} as well as a number of croquet games going. Dinner and dancing were in the main hall, set among some truly beautiful pieces from the museum’s collection. It is not a cavernous space, so our smaller wedding of about 80 people was wonderfully intimate. It was most important for the two of to be able to spend time with each guest – so we made sure we were the last to leave, we had so much fun.

This photo is one of my favorites. I love how I am kind of echoing the sculpture behind me. It is also completely accidental – the Gorge wind is something I had not considered when it came to choosing the dress.

Real wedding: Vanessa + Matt

I love the palette, the patterns, the details, pretty much EVERYTHING about this wedding! Vanessa and Matt have done a great job with all the personal touches….right down to the kiddie bags and table numbers [another easy trick, pictures of your hands holding up the number!]

Thank you!!

I wanted to sincerely thank everyone for the birthday wishes and taking my quiz….I really learned a lot! One question that actually came up a lot was wanting to see some stuff I’m doing for my own wedding….to be honest, a lot of that stuff hasn’t been worked out yet! I’ve been buying tons of things here and there, but nothing has been put together yet [like my table centerpiece vases] but rest assured, when I start working on them, I will be sharing a lot of info! So bear with me until then…

[sassy card from uncooked] [LOVE them!]

Palindrome Press

ok, I lied….THIS will be the only post today….

Alisha from Palindrome Press emailed me about her new letterpress venture…she’s got some beautiful new wedding sets! You might know her from her etsy shop where she sells darling knitting themed letterpress cards [see last picture above]. All this month, she’s offering 15% off all custom orders, so order away!

Congrats Alisha!

its my party....

Ahh, another year older…after a while you don’t even notice! I’m swamped today with work and birthday festivities, so no posts today. However, as my birthday wish, I was hoping you’d all do me a favor…I’d like to get a better idea of my demographic and who’s checking out the ole Brooklyn Bride. If you have a moment, I’d appreciate if you could take 2 minutes to complete this short survey I’ve compiled…don’t worry, its completely painless. I’d really just like to make this a better place for modern brides everywhere.

See you all on Monday, have a great weekend!

thanks!
