K. Autumn

You’ve probably seen K.Autumn‘s hairpieces all over the place, I think most famously from Lisa Wong Jackson’s wedding in Martha Stewart….well, her new website is up with lots of goodies and galleries, so stop on by.

rar rar press

I always go to the Renegade Craft Fair thinking I’m going to buy stuff for other people, but no, I always buy more stuff for me….I bought this postcard from Rar Rar Press and stamped hearts over Louisiana and New York as a little reminder to myself where Chad and I started out…I think they make swell gifts too!

Twigs & Honey

I love Twigs & Honey

ABOUT

I’ve been a crafty type of gal since I was young and even remember a time in first grade
when everyone was expected to vote on what they thought each of their classmates would
grow to be someday. The overwhelming votes predicted that I would be a professional artist.
Well, at the time, I didn’t think that would pay so well (aw~ typical know-it-all 6 year old),
so I ended up studying my other interests: science and the environment.

Thanks for visiting!

Anthro fabric envelope

Look what Anthropologie sent me for my birthday! If you’re not an Anthro card carrier, definitely become one. I thought the fabric envelope would make a great little weekend project…maybe to hold a love note for your sweetie, or maybe it could hold a thank you note for your bridal party?

Survivor Soiree

In case you haven’t heard about this, I wanted to let you all in on something wonderful that chewing the cud and byrd+bleeker have cooked up….

I wanted to share with you the latest collaboration of chewing the cud (Viola) and byrd + bleeker (Libby) in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Survivor Soireé

Both Libby and I wanted to find a way to help in the fundraising efforts to promote the advancement of breast cancer research. We have known and been touched by the courageous stories of these survivors, one of which is my mom. This inspiration gave birth to the concept of Survivor Soirée— a pink party to celebrate celebrate the vitality of the women who have survived breast cancer. The creative strength of both our companies resulted in these “New Beginnings” letterpress invitations (by chewing the cud) and the “Sweetness of Life” candy bar (by byrd + bleeker). I’ve attached a series of photos + taglines that highlight the details of our concept.

We chose specifically to donate 10% of all proceeds to the Nellie B. Connally Breast Cancer Foundation at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at Houston, where Libby calls home and where my dad is currently a patient. This project is near and dear to our hearts at many levels.

And through the month of October, mention Brooklyn Bride and get 20% off!
