Memoirs of the Perpetual Bridesmaid

I got an email yesterday from Jonathan and Whitney from Brown Sugar Design about a new series they will be featuring on their blog for the next few months entitled the “Memoirs of the Perpetual Bridesmaid“. Their friend will be posting about what a wedding is like from the bridesmaids point of view….could be VERY eye-opening….check it out and check out Brown Sugar Design’s portfolio while you’re at it!

another darn birthday....

Today is Chad’s birthday! I both love and hate that our birthdays are 4 days apart…[we always have to share, humph!]…but that’s ok….I’d rather share with this guy over ANYONE else! Happy Birthday babe!

[he just started a new political blog if anyone's interested.....]

photo favorites: Studio d.Sharp

Denise of Studio d.Sharp [check out her new blog as well]:

My husband and I were wed at the Maryhill Museum in the Columbia Gorge in 1996. We had the ceremony on the grounds, followed by cocktails and an appetizer bar. We had vintage quilts on the lawn for guests to relax and talk {amid the resident peacocks} as well as a number of croquet games going. Dinner and dancing were in the main hall, set among some truly beautiful pieces from the museum’s collection. It is not a cavernous space, so our smaller wedding of about 80 people was wonderfully intimate. It was most important for the two of to be able to spend time with each guest – so we made sure we were the last to leave, we had so much fun.

This photo is one of my favorites. I love how I am kind of echoing the sculpture behind me. It is also completely accidental – the Gorge wind is something I had not considered when it came to choosing the dress.

Real wedding: Vanessa + Matt

I love the palette, the patterns, the details, pretty much EVERYTHING about this wedding! Vanessa and Matt have done a great job with all the personal touches….right down to the kiddie bags and table numbers [another easy trick, pictures of your hands holding up the number!]

Thank you!!

I wanted to sincerely thank everyone for the birthday wishes and taking my quiz….I really learned a lot! One question that actually came up a lot was wanting to see some stuff I’m doing for my own wedding….to be honest, a lot of that stuff hasn’t been worked out yet! I’ve been buying tons of things here and there, but nothing has been put together yet [like my table centerpiece vases] but rest assured, when I start working on them, I will be sharing a lot of info! So bear with me until then…

[sassy card from uncooked] [LOVE them!]
