Aftertaste at Parsons
One of our office interns from the summer worked on this group project while at Parsons and I was so impressed by it I just had to show it to you guys! They had to take a space and turn it into an afterparty for a speaking event. They were given an incredibly small budget of $2000 (that included catering!) to work with and the end result was super chic and sophisticated. They predominantly used found recycled papers and woods from the wood shop, and built all the tables, floral, food and utensil displays themselves! All could be easily translated to a wedding setting, dont you think?

The New Modern: Winter White
Hello and happy winter! The temperature outside has dropped and the days are now short. Winter has arrived and it’s time to cozy up. Now, there is a lot of inspiration out there for winter tablescapes, ranging from the traditional to the kitsch and they all have there place. But for our December table - I thought let’s keep it simple and white with lots of candle light. Mounds of fake snow hide the floral foam that anchors the flocked branches. Simple arrangements of dusty miller and eucalyptus bring some blue gray color to the design. Adrienne found these great ikat plates so we had some pattern to play with. I think any similar graphic would work. A little bird and pine cone napkin rings add a whimsical touch. Overall a very easy table to create. Wishing everyone a great holiday season! – Denise

Modern Fall inspiration shoot
Loved getting this shoot in my inbox from the ladies of Tinsel & Twine…I’m all about taking the inspiration of a season but tweaking it to make it more modern!
For this photoshoot, we planned to create two vignettes that reflected the warm tones of Fall, but without using the traditional combination of burnt reds, oranges, and browns. Instead, we picked a more modern palette of charcoal and cream accented with glints of gold.
Our first set-up is a very sweet breakfast in bed. Imagine waking up on a gloriously lazy Sunday morning. And although the weather is beginning to turn chilly, the sun is shining and you’ve got your love to keep you warm. That, and a sweet surprise from your Honey: pumpkin spiced donuts, fresh flowers, and a little love note! What could be cozier?
The second scene is a table set for a spiced cider and donut brunch with your closest friends. Circular design elements are carried through a collection of dotted vases, speckled menus, a dramatic gilded hanging wreath of hand-crafted paper petals, a cylindrical cakestand, and — of course — carefully architected pyramids of donuts and pastry puffs. So many details to take in make this a truly delicious feast for friends!
