If you guys know me well (and after 6 years of blogging, I hope you do!), then you know I love the untraditional when it comes to weddings. I love working in items that have nothing to do with weddings into decor, or finding dresses off the rack rather than getting the usual wedding dress. The more modern, the better…which is why I’m beyond excited to be partnering with Barneys New York to show off what they’ve got for weddings!
I dont know if I ever told you this, but 3 months after Chad and I started dating, we were shopping around Barneys and literally found the engagement ring I knew I had to have. It was a stunner from Malcolm Betts, hammered platinum with a vintage diamond, yet perfect for my modern tendencies (similar to this one). I’d never seen anything like it at the time, and its still one of my favorite designs ever. We never even looked anywhere else because there was no need to! Then when it came time to pick out our wedding bands, we checked out a couple of places, but eventually headed back to Barneys, and again, found the perfect ring, this time from Linda Lee Johnson. While the rings were from 2 different designers, they went together amazingly well, and we got it on the spot.
It’s knowing that I can find modern dresses, shoes, accessories, even registry gifts, that keeps me coming back to Barneys for inspiration, and the best part is, since they’re not traditionally “wedding”, they’re totally useable beyond the big day. We’re talking gorgeous pieces from brands like Lanvin, Manolo Blahnik, and Zac Posen, just to name a few. This is the créme de la créme of fashion-forward design, for all you brides who know your stuff.
Of course I had a lot of fun in the process putting together a Pinterest board inspired by what I think is a perfectly Brooklyn/New York modern wedding, featuring chic dresses, sleek hairstyles, and everything else you’ll need to pull it together. You can check it out here.
