Continuing with our Cream Event coverage….
Glitter & Rye‘s table was full of color and pattern mixed in with the naturalness of wood…loved how she incorporated layers into her centerpiece.

Alison Events & Pear Tree teamed up for a lush flower filled area….I’m pretty sure you could walk away with a fresh bouquet too!

Firefly Events & Fox Fodder Farm had a much moodier look for their table, but with a strong effect.

The table over at Hatch Creative Studio was almost 3 in one…it was a great way to show off all their styles. I loved the birch bark heart backdrop with the pop of yellow, such a great effect!

I told you these balloons were everywhere! Ban.do‘s popup shop had the ladies fixin for more glitter, glam and gold! Why I didn’t buy one of those little sequined hearts for myself, I’ll never know.

Juliet & Sierra of Poppies & Posies went with a lush, romantic tablescape…their arbor was draped with hops, so don’t be surprised if you see some beermaking in their future.

Cake yumminess went into overload with Bees Knees and Lael Cakes putting everyone into a sugar coma…I wish I had stolen some more samples to take home…

Us bloggers represented with tables of our own, all unique to our own tastes. Ruffled went with a cityscape theme, The Knotty Bride went with graphic patterns, and I stuck with glitter galore!

The yumminess coming from Good Cheer Food and bar featuring Tito’s was almost too much. The summer bruschetta and cocktails were super yummy….I’m not really a drinker but DID end up having 3 cocktails from their table!

Talent from Elan Artists kept the night rolling on both floors with lots of great bands….and it all started in the freight elevator on your ride up…you dont see THAT everyday.

What does it mean? Cédric and Lindsey
“What does it mean?” is a continuing series where we ask a blogger how they used their wedding as an expression of their union with their significant other. Today we are honored to hear from Lindsey Tramuta and her husband Cédric. Lindsey is the blogger of Lost in Cheeseland where she writes about her experience living in France through food, travel, and love. She contributes to a number of web and print publications. Cédric is an aeronautical engineer specialized in aerodynamics for a French company that manufactures airplane engines In all his spare time, he can be found bouldering in Fontainebleau and rock climbing throughout Europe when time allows.
As enriching as it is to live abroad, the implications of such a choice are inherently complicated. Enter into a multi-cultural relationship and complications are heightened even further. When Cédric and I announced our engagement to friends and family, we included a caveat – the nuptials would take place in Paris, six months later. At the time, many of my friends in the States were grad students on tight, no-travel budgets and knew immediately that, despite their earnest wishes, attending our wedding wouldn’t be possible. The same was true for most of my family.
Six months of preparations began and to my surprise, I was comfortable leaving most of the organizational elements to Cédric and his mother, who was eager to help. Despite this distance, the stress mounted. How would I feel having only a small group of my friends and only my father with me in Paris to celebrate? Would the wedding feel… official?
Before and after the ceremony, I watched as my father slipped between groups of guests to introduce himself and learn how each and every one of them warmed our lives in different ways. I saw the connections develop between him and my in-laws and I felt his joy as Cédric and I took our first steps as husband and wife. At the reception, my father could hardly utter a full thought in his speech before welling with tears. But what he did manage to say left us both overcome with emotion. I looked around the room to see some of my new friends and a few old pals who did make the trip abroad, and they too were moved by the moment. It was in the midst of this moment that I realized that no other celebration would feel as real and meaningful.
*Note: we did go on to throw a U.S. wedding reception (3 years later!) for all of our friends and family who were unable to travel to Paris.

Our table at The Cream Event NY
Whew! So if you’ve been keeping up with Twitter and Instagram, you’ll probably know that The Cream Event happened last week in NYC at Center 548 in Chelsea. Today I thought I’d share some pictures from the Brooklyn Bride table with you! As a blogger with a table, initially I had no idea what to do….I mean, its not like I have any services to offer these brides other than inspiration, so it was a challenge to figure out something fun to do that was also different. I collected inspirational images, brainstormed with Minhee of Paper+Cup (who was also an exhibitor), and we came up with the idea for a Confetti Bar! There were jars of different colored confetti to mix and match however you liked into little glassine envelopes to take away with you. At first, I thought who was really going to do that, but we really had a steady stream of girls (and guys!) coming by to make their own mixes! I think it would be a fun idea to do at a bridal shower or even kids party (if you don’t mind confetti everywhere)
Really have to thank Minhee, Brandon (who helped me brainstorm & design the mini notebooks we gave away) and Scout Books who printed the notebooks, Sarah from Blossom & Branch for her GORGEOUS flowers, and the team from Bash, Please for inviting us to take part.
The Confetti Bar garland sign was made with 6″ vinyl letters purchased at the art store, then stuck onto black cardstock and cut out for additional support. That Helvetica font kept it looking nice and modern.
The ladies of Alison Events and Poppies & Posies hanging at my table.
I couldn’t help but watch everyone playing with the confetti from afar….it was so fun! The tablecloth was a DIY project based on the confetti tablecloth found on Oh Happy Day.
The final product of what everyone got to take home! Want a little bit of the action? I’ve got a TON of leftover confetti and cards left, so if you email me your name & address, I’ll send you your own little envelope! Just use the subject I WANT CONFETTI! Only taking requests through Friday, August 24.
