For weeks I’ve been practicing icing and baking this cake for a party I hosted this weekend and I’m happy to report it paid off (thank you Kitchenaid mixer!!)! Whipped up a couple of cake flags while I was at it…super easy with ribbon, washi tape and a couple of bamboo skewers.

These modern wedding and occasion cakes from Hello Naomi in Australia are so sweet and simple, with the perfect amount of detail.

This month Pinch Food Design will be launching, and I’m especially excited not just because the food looks (and probably tastes) amazing, but the fact that they’ve taken the presentation into account. Check out the dessert cart above, or the taco or donut serving stations…completely beautiful, and perfect for an urban wedding.

I passed by Lulu Cake Boutique the other day while riding in a cab and quickly did a double take from how cute the storefront looked….thankfully, their cakes were as equally as head turning! I like how they’re modern with a little touch of whimsy.

Over the summer you may have heard a little bit about Popbar, a great little popsicle/gelato shop in NYC, but now you’ll be happy to know that they’ve just introduced miniPops, perfectly sized for your engagement shower or wedding! I went to a tasting last night at the shop and they are super delicious, and I didn’t have to feel guilty because they’re free of any artificial preservatives or coloring! Check out their site for more details.
