In the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, my eye caught sight of these adorable appetizer picks from PickOnUs. I had previously seen them in a French store online, but was so happy to see someone selling them in the US. There are SOOO many types & sizes to pick from, I had no idea most even existed! They’re perfect for bridal showers, birthdays, weddings…really any sort of event where you want to jazz up your drinks or appetizers. My favorites are definitely these beaded ones (seen above) and the simple colored garnish sticks.

Its hard to not be inspired by everything you see on Pinterest….from fonts to fashion, or rugs to recipes, its kinda endless. With all the images I’ve collected, I’ve been dying to see some of them translated into weddings, and cakes were the first piece I wanted to tackle. In my opinion, its so essential to get inspiration from outside the wedding world…there are so many things happening in design elsewhere that would work perfectly for weddings! I asked the lovely Betsy of Nine Cakes if she’d be interested and was so happy when she said she’d take it on, so this week we’ll start with the first cake she came up with, shot by the equally fabulous Jainé of Brklyn View Photography. For this one, I was really inspired by the lettering on this poster, and Betsy and her team really make it come to life in the most fun way, right down to the HANDMADE SPRINKLES. Let that soak in a minute….

I’ve got a thing for cute cake toppers, so these adorable buntings from Etsy seller Steph Loves Ben will definitely be making the list. They’re customizable in a bunch of colors, and wont break the bank, which is always a good thing.

Are popsicles the new cupcake? Possibly. It seems like everyone is trying out a fancy new popsicle right now. And why not? It’s the perfect treat for a summer wedding. Made in the colors of the wedding, popsicles are the perfect accent mark to your outdoor wedding.
