Reception venue/catering: Abigail Kirsch Stage Six at Steiner Studios
What do you really say about the best venue I’ve ever seen? From start to finish, Abigail Kirsch’s Stage Six really delivered the wedding of my dreams! We worked with Eric Hoffman, the event director of Stage 6, and he really worked in everything we wanted. During the wedding, we were completely attended to by him personally, and my dad (who is a COMPLETE perfectionist), had all his needs met. Everyone said the food and service were absolutely impeccable.

The Martha Stewart calla cake has always been my favorite and what I envisioned my wedding cake to be. Unfortunately, its a logistical nightmare! Those clear columns separating the layers were custom and cost upwards of $60, which to me, just isn’t worth the cost for an otherwise free cake [Abigail Kirsch has their own baker deal with the cakes]. Sooo, it looks like we’ll be taking inspiration from the master, April Reed, and go with something subtle yet beautiful. We’ll probably end up doing white layers with green ribbon and yellow flowers, but who knows, that could all change in a week.

Chad, Kiki and I headed over to the Brooklyn Flea this weekend to see what we could find….and find we did! I discovered a lot of new vendors, and some old favorites as well. There were lots of great items like Brooklyn notebooks [I picked a few of these up] from Moontree Letterpress and adorable scripted Brooklyn coasters from Sesame Letterpress, both great as gifts, or these initial totes from Loyalty & Blood. My ABSOLUTE new favorites were the yumminess coming from Brooklyn Cookie…I’ve got to get some of the Brooklyn Bridge cookies into my out of town totes. The Flea is open every Sunday in Fort Greene and will have a rotation of vendors, so its definitely a good weekend visit.
