Course description: Are you overwhelmed by the sheer number of wedding photographers and videographers in New York? Are you wondering how to tell one from the other without calling and meeting each one? Who is right for your wedding and what should you be looking for? Join us for a step-by-step seminar that will take you through the research and selection process for two of the most important vendors you will hire for your wedding day. Learn about film vs. digital, black and white vs. color, flash vs. natural light, candid vs. photojournalistic, discs vs. prints and all the other “buzz words” you are flooded with as you pour over photo and video websites. Also, get tips on negotiating contracts specifically with photographers and videographers to get the best value and to actually walk away with the images you want. This course is well-suited for novice planners as well as brides and grooms. Light breakfast will be served.

The Wedding Party recap
This weekend Anne and I hit the Wedding Party event at the Palace Hotel, sponsored by the Wedding Library and Elegant Bride magazine. It was a great chance to catch up with all my favorite vendors, and discover a couple of new ones at the same time. Above are some dresses from Lela Rose’s Amsale‘s new bridesmaids line.
These dresses were a sight to see! Designed by British designer Sam Walls Beasley of Samuelle [who is now located in Brooklyn!!], each dress is completely couture…she will work with you from the very beginning to design a gorgeous, custom made wedding dress that no one else will have!
The fabulous dessert table by Amy Atlas Events and a sneak peak at a cake from One Girl Cookies…the piping and blue color were so precious!
Invitations above by Paper+Cup Designs…I always love seeing them in person and getting to get a real sense of all the special little details that go into each one. Below is Mr. Boddington‘s maypole of gorgeousness.
Flowers above by Blade….a perfect arrangement yellow and grey, and below some striking jewel tones by Fleurs.

BFF Bridal Best in Honeymoons recap
Last night I checked out the always great BFF Bridal Best in Honeymoons event at the Jumeirah Essex Hotel. If you were looking for honeymoon locations and ideas, this was definitely the place to be…lots of exotic locations were represented, like Thailand and the Maldives. Since my honeymoon was long gone, I was glad to see some familiar faces…Jennifer Behr showed off some of her fabulous hairpieces [Gossip Girl is a HUGE fan], Bee from Weddingbee and Lisa Hoffman from Ceci New York were there, Mark Ingram had these 2 lovely ladies above walking around in gorgeous dresses…it was almost too much to handle! Good job BFF Bridal!
[oh, and because I'm totally lame and love celebrity sightings, I would be remiss to not mention that David Faustino was at the hotel..remember him from Married With Children?]

Always a Bridesmaid and Pronovias event
Last Thursday I headed uptown to the Pronovias showroom for a lovely event by Xochitl of Always a Bridesmaid. There was a mini fashion show [forgive my not-so-great shots...models move around a lot], gorgeously fragrant flowers by Fleurs, music, makeup and hair..all in one place! And SPEAKING of events, there are 2 this week….BFF Bridal and The Wedding Party! I’ll be at both so definitely check them out…more info on them in Deals + Events.
