I was so impressed with Domestic Constructions window design for the shop! They made paper flower garlands and mixed in some scraps of fabric in shades of pink…such a simple concept but so effective! Its a nice take on all those garlands I’ve been seeing lately.
Bryn from Paperfinger was an absolute sweetheart! When I first met her on Saturday, she looked so familiar I had to ask where I knew her…apparently we both went to Skidmore College! Small world! She’s quite talented with her calligraphy, and is able to do lots of different types…but my favorite is where she fills in the letters.
Here’s whats coming up this week at the chapel:
June 11th-14th, 1pm-8pm Daily: Wedding Photography Exhibit curated by The Wedding Library. You’ll get to check out prints from some of the best in the wedding photography and videography world.
June 11th, 6-9pm – Opening Exhibit party with photographers/videographers
June 13th, 6-10pm – I’ll be hosting a party featuring The Flashdance and an amazing raffle. If you’re interested in popping by, please RSVP at brooklynchapelRSVP@gmail.com.

Tonite, The Brooklyn Pop-up Wedding Chapel has its first public special event! From 6pm-8pm, The Wedding Co. all the way from Toronto will be there with their Crane Chandelier on display and everyone can come in to learn how to make an origami Crane from the expert ladies themselves, Catherine & Stephanie! They came all the way from Canada for this so it’s not to be missed!
The Wedding Co. is building a chandelier from origami cranes signed by brides and grooms from around the globe. It’s their goal to collect 10,000 of these peaceful tokens of love: For each one they receive, they’ll donate 50¢ to cancer research. How cool is that?? As an engaged bride or groom, this is your opportunity to contribute to a community and an art installation piece. Not engaged? Then participate by coming by and folding a crane or just by spreading the word!
I’m hoping to pop up so I can learn how to finally make a paper crane! Here’s what else is happening this weekend:
FRIDAY JUNE 5
6-8pm Wedding Co.’s Cranes Chandelier Project, Origami Crane demonstration
SATURDAY JUNE 6
12-2pm Lunch with Lisa Hoffman, Ceci NY, “How to Create a Creative Invitation Suite”
6pm Share a drink with us to celebrate the opening of the Brooklyn Pop-Up Wedding Series
SUNDAY JUNE 7
12-1pm Kimberly Canale of Inspired Goodness demonstrates developing a set of printed goods for your wedding
1-2pm The ladies at Ice Cream Social discusses their motif design process AND host an actual ice cream social
2-3pm Inspired Goodness gives good ideas on out-of-towner packages with Brooklyn style

OK, so I’m totally psyched to be hosting a get together at the Brooklyn Popup Wedding Series! on Saturday 6/13 from 6-10pm. Michael from The Flashdance is flying out all the way from California just to DJ, how cool is that??
And oh yeah, and a raffle…I’ve asked some of my favorite vendors to donate some wicked cool items, from free wedding invitations to free engagement sessions, ring pillows and hair pieces. There’s something for everyone! Tickets to take part in the raffle are $5, and proceeds will be going to the I Do Foundation, so please come on by! Very cool giftbags to the first 25 brides too!
RSVP to brooklynchapelRSVP [at] gmail.com by 6/10 so we can get an idea of how many people will be coming.
