Tilt Wedding Fair
Designed to be more of a party than a typical fair, TILT is a culmination of a treasure hunt for artful and unique businesses – both from the wedding industry, and sometime providers to offer couples the experience of possibility. TILT is being styled by the Oakland-centric collaborative duo Local Social. Founders Catherine Weis and Gretchen Krebs are best known for fusing amazing art, design and crafts with unique social experiences at hip Bay Area venues. With the addition of event planner Erica Ota from Pretty Perfect Events, Svea has created a team that will bring a sense of what is available in today’s alternative wedding market. “I wanted to recognize the edgier professionals who create these unique experiences and show couples that they don’t have to settle for the old wedding industry standards,” she says.
TILT definitely promises to be the alternative wedding event and a breath of fresh air in the highly commercialized marketplace. It is thoughtfully conceived around the talent of the exhibitors and reflects their shared desire to give couples a more personal experience on their wedding day. In attendance, amongst others, will be Cari Borja and Margaret Riesen Cooks. Cari is an accomplished artist and Bay Area fashion designer of international renown. She will be sharing a selection of feminine and practical wedding day wares. Her highly sought after pieces are designed to convey the easy grace of living inside ones skin and are made to special order. Margaret will bring a seasonal, internationally inspired menu reflecting her passion for fresh, organic ingredients and celebrating the bounty of the Bay Area’s harvest. TILT will also feature contemporary catering alternatives — food trucks and snow cones pulled up to the curb! DJ Extra Lars will be spinning records throughout the event, which will be intermittently punctuated by other musical performances and activities.
