Anna’s pre-RSVP

I wanted to share our save the date card which was a very simple post card (just our return address). We are getting married in the remote mountains of Idaho and wanted something simple and fun that our guests would get a kick out of — on a budget. Total cost for 250 post cards w/envelopes through vistaprint.com was $80.

Emily’s save the date

I wanted to forward you my fiance and I’s save-the-date that we mailed out for our upcoming wedding. We wanted to send out something somewhat unusual and different from the typical magnet, calendar, etc. Something that would reflect us and how we met. So we sent out two bar coasters per couple with our invitation design (that was inspired by my bouquet of button dahlia’s – pic also attached), and on the back of the coasters told the story of how we met at a funky little bar in the ‘Short North’ in Columbus, Ohio. The story on the back of the coasters went something like this:

Chris e-mailed me out of the blue one day.
Do you want to have drinks or something like that?
Something like that? Yeah, I’d like that.
We met on a Tuesday at a funky dive called Press Grill.
I’ll be the one in orange pants, I said.
He walked in and sat down across from me.
You must be Emily, he whispered with a smile.
I knew that night…
The conversation about our childhood, stories from our
lives that brought us to that moment.
Sweet, small talk. (over a mojito and a beer)
I knew that night…He was the one.

Anyway, wanted to share my save-the-date with you and possibly your readers.

I got some great submissions for save the dates and invites, so I’ll be sharing lots of those with you this week, including some of my favorites dresses from the Fall 2009 lines!

I have already gotten a ton of ideas for my wedding and I saw that you were taking cool Save the Dates. Well I hope you like mine! I got the idea from a blog I saw online and just had to do it. This pic is the front of the postcard, on the back we just had save the date for Emily and Jeremy yada yada the usual jargon.

Anthro fabric envelope

Look what Anthropologie sent me for my birthday! If you’re not an Anthro card carrier, definitely become one. I thought the fabric envelope would make a great little weekend project…maybe to hold a love note for your sweetie, or maybe it could hold a thank you note for your bridal party?
