Save the Date: Elizabeth

I’ve found Brooklyn Bride to be such a stylish, fun source of inspiration–when I saw your recent post on Save the Dates, I thought I’d send ours along. We ordered the return address stamp from Paperwink (after seeing a post about them on Brooklyn Bride) and then chose Carnival MF Open as a near-match to print the envelopes. I love tiny stuff, so the moo cards and the golf pencils were especially fun for me (they’re still on sale from Write On Pencils & they’ll do up to three imprint lines for free. We chose a pun, the date, and our website). We found the library stamp in the basement, and the other stamps were drawn by my main squeeze. We had fun assembling these little packets, and from what we’ve heard people had fun opening them, too!

Save the Date: Bridjit + Matt

Matt and I currently live in different states. He stayed down in Savannah, GA to open a digitial signage company while I moved back to CT to do design & innovations for a marketing agency. When designing our save the dates, we really wanted them to be unique and speak to our situation: madly in love, separated by distance, jumping all the hurdles and knocking down all the obstacles until we reach our goal of our wedding date! Hence, the maze. Matt in one corner surrounded by all things southern, me in the other with all the NYC/CT cues. I scattered things about us throughout the maze like the airplanes we spend so much time on going back and forth visiting each other, our favorite pattern (houndstooth) and even our pet blue lobster, Buster.

Save the Date: Joelle + Gareth

We decided to email Save the Date so that we could also Save some Trees.  We went with a vintage postcard look (perhaps to compensate for going digital) —
and have received many compliments from our friends and families.
(The image that I turned into a stamp, was created from a photo of Toronto that Gareth took …. the photo has been published in the national paper, in blogs, and on the Guardian UK: http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/gallery/2008/feb/06/photography?picture=332406673 )
I am a Toronto-based graphic designer and am starting to move toward designing wedding invitations – I love capturing the character of the bride / groom with the mood of how they envision their wedding day.
I designed and screen-printed our friends’  invites for their December, 2008 wedding … they invites were just featured in Cosmo Bride, Australia! (I’ve attached that invite as well. I’m waiting for the actual magazine to arrive in the mail so that I can get a better scan than the one I am providing you with. SO, I’ll tack on the digital file that you can view more clearly)

Save the Date: Emily + Neil

It’s actually quite appropriate that this submission is late in getting to you, because we were a little late in getting on board with making our save the dates for our wedding in May. As a result of our lack of planning (or environmental responsibility, or budget-concious stance, as I sometimes choose to describe it), we decided to email them out using Emma (www.myemma.com) which is the email marketing company I work for. We were able to link the image itself to a signup form on our wedding website and gather mailing addresses for all of our guests. Since it was emailed, we wanted to create a printer-friendly save the date just in case our guests still needed to stick something on their fridge as a reminder. This gave us a chance to insert a little humor into the printable version (see PDF with instructions).

My dear husband Neil designed the save the date with plenty (too much, he might say) direction from me. My inspiration was the Keep Calm and Carry On posters from WWII (http://www.decorativethings.com/keep-calm-and-carry-on-poster.html). Neil and I both wear plastic frame glasses, and we’re kind of known for them in our circle of friends, so we wanted to use them in our design scheme.

Save the Date: Jenny + Jeff

We’re getting married at Aspen Hall in Bend, OR.  The place is surrounded by a huge Aspen grove so we thought the perfect save-the-date should include a hint about our wedding location.  We carved the tree in that grove so it could conceivably be there for decades!  We’re planning to go back on the wedding day and take some bride/groom shots with the tree and our carving.
