I got this email from Karen of Karenscape Photographers [who just happened to be one of the photographers I was interested in using for our wedding] and thought it was a great contest! Details below….
Karenscape Photographers is giving away a FREE complete wedding photography package every four months in 2008. Karen will personally shoot all three contest winner’s weddings, a value of $9700 per wedding, for FREE.
But this is not a random raffle.
We are searching for the most romantic, serendipitous, poignant, funny, and inspiring stories of how you found the one. Tell us the amazing tale of how you crossed paths with your fiancé in this big crazy world, and you’ll have a chance to win a free wedding. Make us cry. Make us laugh. Make us hope.
To win you must create a 3-minute-or-less video relaying your story. Upload your video to YouTube.com and send us an email. Be as creative as you’d like!
For full contest entry details, please visit www.karenscape.com and click on the “Win a Free Wedding” link. We’re looking forward to hearing your story!

Happy New Year everyone! I’m sure we have a lot of newly engaged brides tuning in, since the holidays are the biggest time for proposals, so welcome!
Chad and I had a great holiday and just came back from a lovely weekend in Washington DC with my family, but I’m definitely happy to be home and get cracking on wedding projects…these months have really flown by!!! I look forward to finally getting to share some of the projects I’ll be tackling….but how about we get things started with a little contest?
I used to be really into astrology when I was younger….always trying to find what signs were compatible with my indecisive Libra tendencies and see if the stars really could define me. That all ended up as a childhood phase, but when I was recently sent a copy of Stacey Wolf’s Never Throw Rice at a Pisces, I had to revisit and see how accurate it could be….and boy, was it! Stacey had me pegged from the very beginning!! [especially with my expensive taste issue!] I strive for balance in all my decisions, everything must interrelate and be in visual harmony, and I hate fighting over decisions!!
This book would make a fun gift for the new [or already established] brides in your life….and I just happen to have an extra copy! So from now until Sunday, January 6, leave a comment below with your astrological sign, and I will randomly pick someone to win the copy….winner will be announced on Monday. Good luck!
Abby‘s back at it with a whole new batch of inspiration boards….maybe even better than the first batch! [wait, MINE was in the first batch, scratch that! jking] Here are some of my favs…..

After seeing all the beautiful submissions thus far for the Fabulous Stationery contest over at Decor8, I felt compelled to submit my own inspiration board. Mixing turquoise, navy and whites has been a big color scheme favorite of mine. Here she is! Anyone else who wants to submit boards…you have until August 8, so get them in! I can’t wait to see who wins…..
And SPEAKING of David Stark, I happen to have an extra copy of his book To Have & To Hold, that features a great collection of wedding bouquets. Lets make this interesting and have a little contest, shall we? I’m always searching for new, creative, and modern ideas for weddings…send me pictures of the hippest bouquets you’ve seen or done with a little description and you win the book! Either post your ideas in the comments section or email me at brooklynbride [at] gmail [dot] com. Entries must be submitted by Friday, July 27th, 11:59pm. I’ll post the winning photo on Monday.
