Moo contest!

All of you know I’m a big fan of the Moo cards, especially their little mini ones…I use them as my business cards and even used them in my wedding with my favors. They’re printed on really good stock paper, and you can use a different photo for every card!! Well, this London based company is so nice that they’re letting me give away sets of either Minicards or Notecards to 5 lucky winners with free shipping! I was so excited when I read your post this morning about this contest. I plan to use Blurb to do a couple of books for my wedding as gifts to various people.

The main book I am trying to create is one for my mother and uncle (who is walking me down the aisle). I am the family genealogist and I have spent the past two years (on and off again) researching my family history. I have traveled across the country to various relatives collecting family photos and stories. And my gift to my mother and uncle would be a book highlighting all of the research, photos, and stories I have collected. The cover I would choose is a montage of photos of various relatives. This is so important to all of our family especially since my grandparents, the two most special people to all of us, will not be able to attend. My grandfather passed from cancer 17 years ago and my grandmother though still alive will not be able to attend my wedding since she is in a nursing home and is not able to walk or sit up in a wheelchair. They were our main link to the past and I want to make sure our story is captured and documented.

By doing this I feel like it ties us together and is a great way for us to have a memorial to all of our ancestors .

to one! We had a “photo booth” at our wedding, which wasn’t the typical kind. We had some awesome photographers set up an area at our reception with a backdrop and props and * poof * instant fun!

I def. want to make a Blurb book of just our photo booth pictures.

We recently took an engagement session in NYC and this specific picture was taken in Greenwich. This picture reflects our personality the most and we’ll put this as our cover, the engagement pictures photobook will be displayed at the reception of the wedding, coming up in December.

Blurb contest!

I’m so excited to be doing a contest for you guys with Blurb.com ! I was recently approached by them to try out their services to see how I liked it, and I gotta say, its pretty damn good! I ended up making a wedding album AND an album of my favorites images from the blog. For the wedding album I used their new wraparound hardcovers….its great because you don’t have to deal with loose covers that inevitably get wrinkled or ripped….and for the blog book, I tried out the soft cover, which is equally as great. The layouts were easy to use and to mix and match, and all looked very professional. You can also put your books up for sale if family members want to get their own copy!

Russell + Hazel winners!

All I can say is Wow! This was the most successful contest to date, and I’m thoroughly amazed by how disorganized all of you are. Maria:: I am using a binder that one of my students left behind and didn’t want. Its a little tagged up with some of his favorite Tupac lyrics. I would love something more organized because I just started a new school year(its a multi-track) and its going to be too hectic for me to find time to come up with my own system.

Well, I don’t have a wedding planner, because it’s my best friend who is getting married.
As the ultimate bridesmaid & best friend who hasn’t yet given an engagement gift other than a ring pop, this would be a fun little present to give my gal during her planning.
She is using a hand-me-down planner from circa 1995.

I am the best procraftinator you have ever met. I am very organized (wink, cough, ahem, mumble). I’ve got a couple of Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s reusable bags full to the brim w/ half-completed projects and brainchild ideas. This is one project, though, where I can’t let the overwhelming feeling of disorganization stop me. The wedding is happening. In fact, I designed the invites this weekend and we are printing them this week. I would love to be included in the Russell + Hazel Giveaway…not only because I feel that I would help me stay organized and actually LIKE taking on the daunting task of getting a wedding together and having every last little detail on hand. Additionally…my cats names are Russell and Hazel(???!!!) and if that doesn’t say, “it was written in the stars!”, then I don’t know what does!
