Happy happy thanksgiving everyone!  Much like everyone else, I’m taking the rest of the week off to reflect, relax, and rip into some turkey down south in Louisiana, so I’ll see you back here on Monday!

Oh, and there’s been a question some of you have had about how the swap works…essentially you’re sending 1 card to each person in your card swap group, and its as if you’re sending a card to a friend, so yes, feel free to write a note inside!

Last night was the wedding of Leah and Michael at the Martha Stewart Weddings Popup Chapel, and I’ve got to say it was a beautiful affair!  I’ll be posting more in depth about it and the other weddings this weekend on Monday over at The Brides Guide blog, but  thought I’d give you a little sneak peak.  My pictures do no justice to how cute and creative the whole wedding was, so I’ll leave that to the expert (Mel Barlow!)

Since I couldn’t make ALL the fabulous events at the Brooklyn Popup Wedding Series this past weekend (although I wish I could), the ladies at The Wedding Library were kind enough to fill me in on what I missed.  Here’s the rundown:

We may have been in Williamsburg, but I have to give some love to our fabulous new printer friends in DUMBO: Dabney Lee and her amazing team!  Both DL At Home and the stationery lines use the boldest mix of prints and patterns — printed front and back with attention grabbing envelope liners to boot.  Who wouldn’t want a chevron printed recipe box or personalized serving tray? The Wedding Librarians agree: these invitations and accessories make you want to have a party just to send something so great to your friends. But, if you’re not up for hosting, they also have darling social stationery and don’t get me started on the desk pad: I could happily doodle through my day with this by my side.  A special thanks to Courtney for spending Saturday with us!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream — well, Ice Cream Social stationery that is! This Sunday we were treated not only to viewing their freshest designs (including the invitation that will be used for our weddings at the chapel at the end of this month), but also to Drumsticks and Good Humour bars.  The duo behind Ice Cream Social, Jenn and Mary, exude the hipster/urban scene that Brooklyn is known for! It was great to “pull back the curtain” in the creative process and learn about what inspires these designers.  It’s hard to choose favorites from this line — we ended up giving them a whole table because all of their products are worth looking at! I am especially impressed with how they can “brand” a couple and use a custom motif on anything: stationery, tote bags, thank you notes…very very cool and very very sweet (no wonder they call themselves Ice Cream Social)!

Another special guest appearance was from a longtime Wedding Library friend, Lisa Hoffman, of Ceci New York. Lisa is the creative director at Ceci and she brought some of her favorite custom suites to illustrate what she does so wonderfully.  Over panini and salad, Lisa also showed off her line of boxed sets — the “Landing” set with a motif of sparrows taking of and landing on telephone wires is particularly fetching. So even if you aren’t planning a wedding, now you can bring a little Ceci into your life! Personally, I’d like to thank Lisa for sharing photos from her recent wedding taken by Mel Barlow — if you are unfamiliar with Mel’s amazing work, then you definitely should stop by the pop-up next week when we feature our photographers to meet her.

If you were able to come this weekend, then you probably received a token of our affection.  It makes me wish I had thought of it, but I have to give credit where credit is due: how clever is the team at Gifts for the Good Life?! If you missed the event, we handed out screen-printed burlap gift bags with three delicious subway tokens inside. Technically, they were subway tokens made out of vanilla wafer-esque cookies, dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles and they were accompanied by a wonderful story that you can actually read verbatim on an earlier post (it’s about falling in love, hipster-style, on the L-Train).   I have fallen hard (hipster-style or otherwise) for Gifts for the Good Life and I am always amazed at what touch of personalization they’ll come up with next!

This year was my third round of the NY Magazine Wedding Event, and it could possibly be the best one yet!  More vendors, BETTER vendors, but space to walk around…all add up to a successful event.  Here are some of my favorites from last night….

Beautiful arrangement from the geniuses over at Takashimaya…so good to reconnect with my old middle school buddy Peter who is now their Creative Director!
