10. 03. 2007Wedding invitations: Amy + Scott

Here’s Amy’s invitation suite….I’m amazed at all the different aspects and how personal each and every one is!
The espresso cup with a heart in it actually happened to me just
after Scott and I started dating. He and I were at my 30th birthday
dinner. I told him that if he were an old Turkish Lady he could read
my fortune from the grinds. He swirled the cup around and a heart
appeared. I used this image for our rehearsal dinner.I also caught the bouquet in my best girlfriends wedding… just days
before Scott and I were engaged. I used the snapshots in the
invitation to the bridal shower that my mother threw. The image on the front of our program and one set of thank yous
(Hearts/Crown) is inspired by the Scottish Luckenbooth. It is a
symbol that represents Love Loyalty and Luck. I used it in honor of
my sweet grandmother who lived with us when I was a child. I replaced
the Royal crown with Lady Libertys and added two fat and happy birds
(as my grandmother was an avid bird-watcher and care taker) She passed
12 years ago and I felt it would be a nice way to remember her. I
added our initials and made it our seal.

Vane, thanks again for the post. By the way – I started my own blog about decorating/design and homemaking. It is in its infant stages, but inspired by all of you who put beautiful images on the web … I wanted to take a stab at it. Please do take a peek! abcddesign.blogspot.com
