Real wedding: Anne + Abe
Anne Le Guerne, a super talented illustrator here in Brooklyn (she designed the invites), recently got married to her hunny Abe, and Jen Causey was nice enough to send me some pics! Looks like a fun affair!
abe is a jewish-american real estate developer and i am a french, atheist stylist and illustrator (minifrenchie@blogspot.com). what has been the common link for the 14 years we’ve known each other? our dedication to our family and friends. From the flowers, done by my dear friend djamila moore, to my skirt that my grandmother and i reworked from my mother’s 30 year old wedding dress, to the huppa i hand-stitched from our families’ lace collections, we were surrounded by love everywhere!
after debating numerous and complicated wedding scenarios, we decided to have an all brooklyn affair. we started the day with a portrait session with friend and wonderful photographer jennifer causey (http://simplyphoto.blogspot.com/). then headed to the back stable of frankies (http://www.frankiesspuntino.com/) in carroll gardens, for the family-only ceremony and dinner. after a delicious meal, we walked over to the bellhouse (http://www.thebellhouseny.com/home.php) where 100 of our friends and family were waiting for us with confetti. the dreamy dreamland orchestra (www.dreamlandorchestra.com) music was a perfect soundtrack to the night while we danced and feasted on the delicious treats of baked (http://bakednyc.com/) in redhook.
we ended the night blissfully happy and exhausted just as it should be. now, we are planning part deux with my family in france this summer. think, family farm in the alps: can’t wait!

I admired Jennifer’s work recently. I love Brooklyn affairs, and was excited to see the Bell House’s photobooth featured in photos.

Lovely wedding!
I’m having my wedding reception at Frankie’s next year. Curious is that brown craft paper on the table? Is that something you bought and put on the tables?
Best,
Jen
