Icelandic wedding fashion

I just got back from a 2 week trip to Iceland that rocked my world. From the mountains to the hot springs, to the fashion, Iceland was very much the charmer. I had the lucky fortune to be there for a fashion exhibition at the National Museum, which showed a collection of dress from the 20th century where I became enamored with this wool wedding dress:

Have you ever seen a wedding dress made of wool? This 1959 high-waisted A-lin was inspired by Audrey Hepburn and was made by dressmaker Sigríði Bjardnadóttir for Greta Håkansson. I love how the designer took a very Icelandic element (wool) and created something very au courant. Notice the bouquet and hat made of the same material and style.
