5th Annual Holiday Card Swap!

THE CARD SWAP IS NOW CLOSED

Can you believe its already that time again?  I’m having trouble coming to grips that the year is already almost over and that Thanksgiving is right around the corner!  Its also a little hard to believe that this will be the FIFTH year I’m doing this!  5! Its been so great to see new names crop up in my inbox over the years who are either doing the swap for the first time or since the very beginning…not just locally, but globally as well.

In true card swap tradition, I asked a talented designer to design the logo for this years card swap, so thank you to Annemarie Buckley of Scout’s Honor Co!  Im such a fan of hers and so grateful she was able to do it!

Here are the rules:

Send an email to me at brooklynbride [at] gmail [dot] com with Holiday Card Swap in the subject line by November 23 [day before Thanksgiving]. Include your name, address, email address, website/blog address and twitter handle [if you have these].  Please send your email in this format…

- By December 1, I will have emailed you the names and addresses of up to 5 people to send cards to.
- Your cards must be handmade [think Gocco, glitter, Photoshop, cut + paste, sewing, etc....] Make something that’s easy to do multiples of.  You’ll be sending 1 card to each person on your list, and add in a special holiday greeting!
- Send out your cards by December 15 at the latest!  Easy squeezy!

Wait patiently by your mailbox!  The swap is open to our international audience, so pay special attention to postage.  Please don’t disappoint your partners if you know you won’t be able to send out cards on time, or at all.

I’m new here, so I wanted to clarify – would we be sending handmade cards so that they could then be sent on to someone on the recipients usual Christmas card list? Or would we be sending handmade greetings actually TO the person who’s addresses we are given?

Sorry if I’m being stupid here, it sounds like a great idea!

the best way to explain it is to pretend like you’re writing a holiday card to a friend….these aren’t cards that the recipient will then turn around and use, its a card specifically for them. hope that helps!
