Tablescape challenge: Chic and simple

When I first found out about the Modern Tablescape Challenge I was so excited to take part in it!  Everyone seems to be jumping on the vintage or rustic bandwagons, and fewer brides these days are asking for cool, modern designs!  This challenge is the perfect opportunity to get creative and showcase how fabulous a modern tablescape can actually be!  Modern doesn’t mean it has to seem cold or plain, but instead it’s clean, a bit minimalistic, and most of all, NOT cluttered.  The beauty of our tablescape is in the details, clean lines and modern graphics. With a crisp color palette of white and grey as a base, we used pops of orange to bring some warmth and life to this table!

Stationery: Lindsay – “I kept the stationery designs simple by using a simple, fun & trendy chevron pattern in a soft gray & white palette, but added in subtle orange accents hoping to warm up the design since minimal, modern designs can easily look cold & sterile.  What I created was simple, but still very inviting and personalized to the couple!”

Desserts: Elizabeth Gomez -“When I think of modern, I think of clean, light and refreshing beverages and desserts. Here are the yummy desserts I created for this tablescape!”

*Individual chocolate-orange wedding cakes with a light, orange bourbon cream cheese frosting – garnished with an orange peel rose & mint leaf. This was served in a modern white ceramic, egg shaped cup, which had a perfect touch -lined with orange.
*Signature sweet peach cocktails by The Candy Buffet with swizzle stir sticks
*Brownies with cream cheese frosting & orange zest

Florals: White ceramic cubes display unique, orange pincushion protea blooms.  The cubes were placed down the length of the six foot table; this centerpiece draws your eye down the center of the table, leaving no guest without a gorgeous, and totally out of the box, tropical flower to enjoy!  The minimalism of this centerpiece style screams modern as its design is far from ordinary, quite architectural, and very chic!
