11. 17. 2008Natalie’s save the dates
I’ve been watching your save the date series and thought I would try to submit mine even though I might be a little late, but I just finished printing these yesterday! Our wedding is going to be cozy/casual with lots of green and wooden elements. I’m a graphic designer who is fortunate enough to work in a studio that also has a C+P letterpress, so I designed and printed these save the date postcards for our wedding.
We wanted to give our visitors a taste of the wooden elements to come with the wood grain, and I went a step further with it by drawing a heart with our initials in it as if it were carved into the wood. We also came up with the idea of using the “tying the knot” wording to have fun with some wood puns (we’ll probably doing things like, “Wood you join us at our wedding?” for our invitation). All of the bold type on the front and back of the card is hand drawn (it took forever), and the first side of the postcard is a darker cream color while the other side is a lighter cream color.
